Day in the Life Archives

Brad Roethlisberger

I joined the Beall Barclay team in 1995. With almost 15 years at the firm, I have some experience in almost every area of service we provide. I have provided auditing, bookkeeping, consulting, payroll and about every area of tax service for the firm's clients.

I was inspired to pursue a career in accounting by my mother and grandfather, who were both bookkeepers. I guess you can say crunching numbers has been in my family for a while now. I graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During college, I assisted in preparing tax returns for a local accounting firm.

After passing the CPA exam, I moved to Rogers in 1995 to start working for Dick Barclay. One of the reasons I wanted to work at Beall Barclay was that I wanted a job where I would be challenged on a regular basis. A typical day is often one that doesn't go as I planned, and that is what I enjoy about my job. Most often my daily work is determined by what is most pressing that day. Work that was planned for later that week is often moved up due to pressure by either the client or a partner. I try to be accessible to my clients and our staff most of day, which means some days I might end up spending the whole day on the phone or in meetings. The days during tax season are very long, but that only lasts a couple of months. The rest of the year, my work schedule is pretty flexible depending on my workload.

Beall Barclay has assisted me in enhancing my professional image by allowing me to be involved in activities outside of the office. My flexible schedule has given me time to take on leadership positions on both local and state levels at certain civic and professional organizations.

I enjoy my job at Beall Barclay because I know we are often our clients' most trusted advisor, providing a service that only a few experienced professionals can provide. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing my assistance has helped our clients save a lot of tax dollars.

I was born in Illinois, but have lived in Arkansas since I was five. I grew up in Hardy, Arkansas with my parents and two older brothers. I met my wife, Lea, at Beall Barclay while she was employed as our firm's receptionist. We currently live on her family's farm in Rogers.
